Was very surprised to see this outside Headlands last weekend. Luckily no one was hurt and a crane was able to lift the van back onto the promenade. It made the BBC News who compared the scene to the Italian Job and called it, The Westward Ho! Job

The biggest tide this year is spectacular this evening. The nice man in my video was pot walloping - putting a pebble thrown up by the waves back where it belongs.

Our lovely regular Christmas guests arrived today. Great to see people who love the place and think of Headlands as their holiday home. I always enjoy decorating the tree for them.

Before I came to Westward Ho! regularly I never knew how much the position of the setting sun changed. This great picture shows it setting over the headland a long way back from Hartland Point whilst in summer it swings right out over ocean and sets on the far side of Lundy.
